These are exciting times for sure. I don’t know how the Internet got this far without my blog contribution. This isn’t my first ever blog post. Remember Myspace? They had an option to post stories, blogs, whatever you at the top of your profile page. I also did a long-running blog as an alternate version of famed movie critic Leonard Maltin. He would get in all sorts of trouble and usually end up in court for some reason. What was supposed to be a straight movie review never quite turned out that way. This was on Myspace too. In fact, his daughter, Jessie Maltin, messaged me one time to say that she loved it. It was my biggest claim to fame yet. Now, here we are, roughly ten years or so later, and I’ve finally set up my author page on WordPress.
I have a hodgepodge of ideas on what to do with it. I could post blogs, stories, comics, pictures, old movies I made with friends, embarrassing letters I wrote to ex-girlfriends after a breakup and post my tax returns in the hope that someone somewhere would be interested. I recently published my first book as well. It’s called “Super Sassy Headlines for the New Millennium.” It’s a collection of short stories with headline-themed titles. When people have asked me what the book is about, I find it somewhat hard to explain, like when people ask me what I do for work, what I went to school for, and what I do in the army. I do understand that in this life, details matter. I just wish I was better at it.
I hope this author page launches me into the stratosphere of success. Most of all, I hope to keep it active, because I lose interest in things rather quickly. Just take a look at my Yelp page. Two years ago, I made a resolution to learn how to read sheet music for the piano. “Practice, every day,”I told myself. You can guess how that turned out. Time is fleeting, and life is short. There’s no time to mess around. I’ve since devised a mobile contraption that delivers electric shocks to my brain when I procrastinate. That should do the trick. Until next time, cheers!
